10 Super Foods to Help Burn Stomach Fat

By: Taylor Hollingsworth

When it comes to trying to loose weight, we ladies all know that the struggle is in fact, real. It can be a frustrating and time consuming ordeal trying to shed those few extra pounds around our mid section.

Not to worry, below is my list of 10 foods that can give you that extra push needed to get the perfect belly.

1.Chia Seeds

When I say Chia seeds what do you think of? Do you think of a whole grain food loaded with fiber, protein, Omega-3 fatty acids and tons of antioxidants? If so, you're ahead of the game.

Chia seeds are slowly but surely coming the next “super food”. Most plant foods can't compare to the amount of quality protein found in these powerful seeds. What makes these tiny super seeds so beneficial when trying to loose weight is that the protein found in them is the most weight loss friendly macronutrient and can decrease cravings and reduce appetite.

These seeds can be paired with almost anything. From fruit smoothies to bread, this seed is truly a front runner when fighting stubborn belly fat.

2.Greek Yogurt

Not only is greek yogurt packed with tons of probiotics to help regulate and balance the digestive system, but it can also aide with weight loss. Since protein takes longer to digest in the body, it can help you feel full longer.

This is most important when trying not to pick up that unhealthy snack in-between meals. Greek yogurt is absolutely a perfect alternative healthy snack to help minimize those extra cravings, and its not a bad thing that it goes with almost any fruit or vegetable.

Why Diets Fail and Life Changes Succeed

By: Kimberly Myl

We have all heard of dieting. There have been all types of diets out there in the past decade alone. Each one promising you that great beach body, the new healthy you! Whichever fad diet you chose to try, you will almost undoubtedly lose some weight. Common to all diets, if you combine with regular exercise regimen, will find better results.

Two problems with diets are they are not developed as a long term regiment. Most people, who use a specific diet will relapse, give up, quit and regain the weight and in some cases gain even more. Why is this? One of the biggest things you will hear with a diet, “Do not eat…” “You cannot eat….” and so on.

You are given a strict regimen of food you can consume and instructions on how to follow there guidelines and you will lose weight. What diets do not do, is teach you how to sustain a healthy form of eating. Without mentioning specific names of diets out there these days, we will touch up on how diets only set you up for failure and that learning how to eat anything you want in moderations and how life changes are your key to not only weight loss, but maintaining that weight and overall health.

7 Home Workouts To Help With Weight Loss

By: Lily Johnson

It can be hard finding the motivation to go the gym, especially in the winter. The thought of having to drag yourself out of bed before work or college early in the morning when it's still dark is far from appealing - much easier just to stay in bed, right? Then it gets to the end of the day, you've finished work and surprise surprise, it's dark out once again, the most attractive option is to head home and snuggle.

So instead of letting the winter months put me off of working out completely and instead of leaving my quest for my ideal bikini body up until the death when summer is just around the corner, I've been working out at home, after all summer bodies are made in the winter. I've been trying to work on my abs, desperately seeking a more defined stomach, here you will find some of my favourite home workout exercises. For me, music plays a key role in my workouts, without it I struggle to find the motivation. So, before you start make sure you've got an upbeat playlist!

Why You Need Probiotics & How to Get Them

By: Yanina Motovylets

I didn’t know probiotics and probiotic supplements existed until 4 years ago, when I first moved out of my parent’s home for University, and managed to get a sinus infection that had me bedridden for 2 weeks and on 3 different rounds of antibiotics. Halfway through my second round of antibiotics I developed both digestion issues and horrible stomach pains. It is then that I learned antibiotics should be supplemented with probiotics. The probiotic supplement should be taken 3 hours before or after antibiotics, and voila- no more stomach issues. So what exactly is this magical probiotic supplement and what does it do? Why should we take it daily, regardless of whether or not we are taking antibiotics? Let me explain.

According to WebMD, probiotics are live bacteria and yeast that are good for your health, especially your digestive system.

Fitness Isn't About Being Better Than Someone Else, It's About Being Better Than You Used To Be

By: Kayla Kobela (shown above)

Everyone goes through a point in their lives where they hate the way they look, but many don’t have the motivation to change themselves for the better.

In December of 2014, I decided I had had enough with the way I regarded myself. In only two weeks, I dropped a pound, lost four inches around my waist, fit into jeans I hadn’t worn for years, and I felt confident.

The first step to starting a transformation is motivation. I weighed myself, and then took a few pictures of how I looked in my bikini. My starting weight was 164 pounds and I wasn’t happy with that, but in my transformation, I began to realize that the number on the scale didn’t mean as much as how you feel about yourself. The pictures I took became my motivation. I hated what I saw and whenever I felt like giving up, I remembered them.
